In Turkey, most of the produced energy is used for heating. This situation emphasizes the need for insulation on buildings in Turkey because of the high cost of fuel. On the other hand it must be considered to select the appropriate materials for different building envelopes. In this study, payback periods were calculated on different 4 wall types, for the same insulation thickness and for the optimum insulation thickness of walls and for five different fuels. As a result, it was seen that when optimum insulation thickness was applied to the wall, there was an inverse proportion between payback period and optimum insulation thickness.
