Ticaret ve bu eksende gelişen olaylar insan ve toplum hayatında; siyaset, din ve sanat kadar yer tutmaktadır. Bir bölgenin zenginleşmesinde ticaret önemli bir paya sahiptir. Horasan, 8-10. yüzyıllarda ticarî potansiyeli yüksek bir bölge olarak görülmektedir. Burayı farklı endüstri dallarında yeterli üretimin olduğu, dünyanın farklı bölgelerden tüccarın geldiği, ticarî potansiyelinin iyi ve ticaret hayatının hareketli olduğu bir bölge olarak tasvir etmek mümkündür. Buradaki çarşı-pazarda her türlü ürünün bulunabildiği söylenebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada Horasan ticarî potansiyelinin ortaya konulması hedeflenmektedir. Bölgeden geçen ticaret yolları ve bu yolların bölgenin iktisadî hayatına etkisi, bu yollar üzerinde inşa edilmiş olan ribâtlar/kervansaraylar, kervancılık ve ticareti omuzlayan tüccar sınıfı bu çalışmanın ortaya koymak istediği hedefler arasındadır.
Trade and the events that develop in this axis hold a place in human and social life; as much as politics, religion and art. In the wealth of a region, trade has an important role. Horasan, in the 8-10th centuries, is seen as a high trade potential region. It is possible to describe this area as a region where there is sufficient production in different industries, where traders from different regions of the world come, where the trade potential is good and where the trade life is moving. It can be said that any kind of product can be found in the market. In this study, it is intended to identify the trading potential of Horasan. The trade routes passing through the region and the impact of these routes on the economic life of the region, the ribates/kervansaray that are built on these routes, the trade class that shakes the trade and the trade are among the objectives that this study wants to reveal.
Trade life occupies an important place on the agenda of society. Trade plays an important role in the prosperity of a region. Khorasan was a region with strong commercial potential. There was sufficient production in different industries. Traders came here from different parts of the world. As a result, Khorasan's commercial life was active. There were all kinds of products on the market. In this study, the commercial potential of Khorasan has been studied. Trade routes passing through the region and their effects on the economic life of the region were examined. The ribats built on the trade routes were also discussed. After that, transportation was mentioned. Finally, the traders were the subject of the study.
