DEĞERLER EĞİTİMİNDE İZCİLİĞİN ÖNEMİ VE EĞİTSEL DEĞERİ ÜZERİNE NİTEL BİR ARAŞTIRMA

Abstract:

İzcilik, gönüllü, politik olmayan, uluslararası, üniformalı, çeşitli yaş gruplarındaki gençlerin zihinsel, fiziksel, ruhsal, sosyal, duygusal ve karakter gelişimine katkıda bulunan eğitimsel bir gençlik faaliyetidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, izcilik hareketinin, değerler eğitimindeki önemini ve eğitsel değerini ve çocuklara kazandırdığı temel değerleri, izci lideri öğretmenlerin deneyimleri ve görüşlerine dayalı olarak ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemini farklı illerde görev yapan 43 izci lideri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, izciliğin okul eğitimini desteklediğini, çocukların ve gençlerin fiziksel, sosyal, psikolojik, duygusal ve ahlaki gelişimlerine önemli katkılar sağladığını ve değerler eğitiminde oldukça etkili bir faaliyet olduğunu göstermiştir. İzcilik çalışmalarının öğrencilere; sevgi, saygı, arkadaşlık, zararlı alışkanlıklardan uzaklaşma, doğruluk, sabır, dürüstlük, yardımlaşma ve paylaşma, sorumluluk bilinci, vatan ve millet sevgisi, cesaret, özgüven, disiplin, ekip ruhu, temizlik ve çevre bilinci gibi temel değerleri kazandırdığı tespit edilmiştir.

Abstract:

Scouting is defined as voluntary, non-political, international, uniformed educational youth movement that contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, emotional, spiritual and character progress of variety groups of children and youngsters. The main purpose of this study is to draw attention to the importance and educational value of the scouting movement in values education and the basic values it brings to children based on the experiences and opinions of the scout leader teachers. The sample of the study consists of 43 scout leaders working in different provinces. The data of the research was obtained through a structured interview form developed by the researcher. Descriptive analysis method was used to analyze the data. The results showed that scouting supports school education, contributes significantly to the physical, social, psychological, emotional and moral development of children and young people and is a very effective activity in values education. In this study, it was determined that scouting studies gave students basic values such as love, respect, friendship, distancing from harmful habits, loyalty to family, truthfulness, patience, honesty, helping and sharing, sense of responsibility, love of homeland and nation, courage, self-confidence, discipline, team spirit, cleanliness and environmental awareness.
