Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to make a speech analysis of the news on the internet about Syrian students who are educated and taught as a foreign language as a Turkish language and teachers who work as a Turkish teacher. For this purpose, 20 original news on different websites between 2016 and 2018 have been analyzed by T. van Dijk’s socio-cognitive speech analysis method. The analysis in the news is the main topic of the existence of the speech and which elements are based on the work. The statements contained in the news were found to be produced by the news headline and visual means and have been observed to strengthen the negative Syrian perception already represented in the media. However, in the field of Turkish teaching, the teachers who will teach Syrian children are also not appointed teachers being built in the framework of the speech. Thus, it can be said that negative speech, built by internal and non-lingual elements, creates an authoritative and negative perception.
