Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of the Professional High School students towards online examinations. The universe of research in the screening model, in the 2015-2016 educational year, is formed by students of second-class classes of the children's development, computer programming, office management and managerial assistance, logistics and computer technology departments studying at the Erciyes University's Hussein Shahin Professional High School. Maximum diversity sampling was used in the study because the opinions of students studying in different sections were asked to be taken. The study used the "Online Test Attitude Scale" developed by Sırakaya, Sırakaya and Çakmak (2015) as a data collection tool. The scale was applied to a total of 208 students, including 129 women and 79 men. In the analysis of the data, independent groups were tested and one-way variance analysis was used. The results of the analysis found no significant differences in the attitude of students to the online exam according to their gender. The attitudes of students towards the online exams differ in terms of the variable section. While the highest value for online examinations is given by the students of the Computer Technology Department, the highest concern is carried by the students of the Logistics Department. Analysis based on the Internet use level variables shows no significant differences in the students' attitude levels.
