Abstract:

Novel, which is a literary product, has entered the Turkish literature with the Tanzimat period. From Tanzimat period to today, because some of this type’s products have not been transferred to Turkey Turkish from Ottoman Turkish caused these works not having enough inventions with the present readers and have brought the problem of not being the subject in literary works. Ercüment Ekrem Talu, who is one of the four children of Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem that has an important place in innovation and self-development of Turkish literature, is among the prolific pens of our literature. Despite many novels, stories and columns, he is among the people about whom there has not been sufficient studies, apart from some thesis and small number of articles. Talu’s novel Kundakçı, by putting a pansy and also a spendthrift stereotype named Şekip in the centre, in which he gave place to his adventures and sad fates of women whose lives have been disrupted because of this man, is one of the works that has not been a subject of a comprehensive study. In this trial of article, in order to eliminate the identified deficiencies first of all the life of Ercüment Ekrem Talu and his literary aspect have been touched on and then the novel Kundakçı has been studied under the headings of abstract, structure (plot, people, time, place), language and narrative, theme, perspective and has been tried to express the extent of degeneration
