Özet:

Sille, that is located in 8 km. northwest of the city centre, draws attention being differentwith geographical structure, culture, manner of life, belief and traditions. Because after Greeks, Orthodox Turks and Seljuk, Muslims and non-Muslims lived here together. Sille, was a developed settlement in aspect of socio-economy and especially for  rade, rug business, pottery, viticulture, stonework and chandler until the first half of the 19th century. However, with the Lausanne Treaty, while the Greeks living in Sille were sent to Greece with population intervention, a part of Turks from Western Thrace were brought to Sille. This exchange affected Sille public negatively. This negativity  xpedited migration in Sille and the population decreased gradually. Decreasing of the population caused damage in aspect of socio-economy, too. Historical Sille that was the centre of township till the year of 1980, is a settlement with two districts and is connected to Konya-Selcuklu Municipality nowadays.To animate the significance of Sille in the past, especially for the restoration of the cultural property and rub business, the improvement of the handcraft, completions of the tourism infrastructure are to be performed. As the first step of those requirements; cultural values like churches, mosques, streets, fountains and traditional Sille houses weredeclared as Urban Site Area determining the inventory by the Protection and Natural Heritage Committee of Konya. In this study, geographical features of Sille settlement, significance in the past, population and population improvement, settlement features, housings, economy, current status and the necessary suggestions to earn the ex-significance are focused on.
