Abstract The aim of this study is to determine how much the children are effective in families' decision-making process of buying souvenirsholiday. In order to determine participation and effect of children in evaluation and purchasing decision of holidaysouvenirs , a survey study was conducted with families having at least 1 child and stays at Emet Thermal Resort Hotel in Kütahya and collected data were analyzed by using SPSS 15.0 package program. As a result of the analyses, it was concluded that couples have common effect in process of holiday purchasing when both parents are working mother and father works; father is effective when only one of the couples work; children who are 13 and above have active participation in purchasing decision process while children in other age groups (0-5 and 6-12) have restricted effect on this process. In addition to this, it was concluded that existence of activities towards children is an important evaluation criteria for families with children.
