Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to determine primary school students’ opinions about learning and teaching environments. Qualitative research method was used in study. The sample of the research includes 201 primary school students who are studying in class of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. The students defined learning and teaching environments with qualitative data source that includes open ended questions. Also the students were asked to report science and technology courses’s learning and teaching environments by drawing. Datas were analyzed by using quantitative and qualitative analyzes. According to the findings of the research, the students consider their teachers’ role that transfer knowledge and declare the teachers who use traditional teaching methods. The students consider themselves as passive in classroom environment. Also it was determined that science and technology lessons’s activities are enjoyable and teachers use traditional methods by evaluating them
