Dünyadaki bir çok ülke gelişen teknolojiyi takip etmek, küresel rekabete uyum sağlayabilmek amacı ile politikalarında ve eğitim sistemlerinde bir takım değişiklikler yapmaktadırlar. Bu değişikliklerin özündeyaratıcılık, inovasyon, eleştirel düşünme, problem çözme, işbirlikli öğrenme gibi 21. yy becerilerini geliştirmeye yönelik hedefler olduğu görülmektedir. Bu hedeflerin eğitim sistemine yansımaları Fen, Teknoloji, Mühendislik ve Matematik (STEM) alanlarının disiplinlerarası öğretimi şeklinde olmuştur. Bu araştırmanın amacı STEM alanlarının disiplinlerarası şekilde öğretilmesine olanak sağlaması amacı ile geliştirilen STEM etkinlikleri hakkında bilgi vermek ve geliştirilen etkinliklerin öğrencilerin STEM alanlarına yönelik tutumlarına etkisini incelemektir. Çalışmada, ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Faber vd. (2012) tarafından geliştirilen ve Yıldırım ve Selvi (2015) tarafından Türkçe’ye uyarlanan STEM Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonuçları STEM temelli etkinliklerin öğrencilerin STEM’e yönelik tutumlarını olumlu şekilde etkilediğini göstermiştir.
Many countries in the world are making a number of changes in their policies and educational systems in order to follow the developing technology, adapt to global competition. General objectives of these changes are to develop students’ 21. Century skills such as; creativity, innovation, critical thinking, problem solving, colloboration. The reflections of these objectives on education system are seen as teaching science, technology, engineering and mathematichs (STEM) in an interdisciplinary way. The purpose of the current study is to give information abaout developed STEM activities and to explore the effects of these activities on students’ STEM attitudes. A Quasi experimental research design, with pre test post test contolled group, guided the study. STEM attitude scale, developed by Faber et al. (2012) and adapted into Turkish by Selvi and Yıldrım (2015) was used as data collection tool. The study results showed that STEM-based events positively affected students' attitudes towards STEM.
