Abstract:

Thorough the history, family has been the basic institution of the society and has played an important role in terms of transmitting culture from one generation to the other. Today, it seems that this structure has begun to loss its importance and there are some corruptions in terms of inner family relations. In order to solve this problem, we need to seek the reasons for corruptions of family life and to make some suggestions for reducing these problems, more importantly, to raise consciousness for people. At this point, religious educators can and must do something. The main purpose of this article is to evaluate some Turkish proverbs in terms of the importance of family, chosen of spouse, the continuousness of family, and some conditions required in inner family relations based on religious sources and psychological and sociological research. Lastly, some suggestions concerning family and its education were made for readers. Key Words: Family, education, proverb.
