Abstract:

During the reign of Germiyanoğulları, there were a lot of scientific activities in Kütahya. Four madrasahs, Vâcidiye, Balabaniye, Yakub Bey and İshak Fakîh, were built in this period.It is known that different from the masrassahs mentioned above in Vâcidiye Madrasah astronomy and narration sciences were taught.The wakfs of Yakub Bey and İshak Fakîh Madrasahs, which were a part of Külliye, have lasted till the present day, but no the wakfs belonging to the other madrasahs were found.While Vâcidiye Madrasah is still sound, İshak Fakîh Madrasah needs repairing.
