Sözlü edebiyat geleneğinin bir ürünü olan atasözleri, içerisinde maddi, manevi birçok kültürel unsur barındırması ve milletlerin geçmiş yaşam tecrübelerini günümüze kadar taşıması yönüyle bir kültür hazinesi olarak görülmektedir. Atasözlerinde işlenen tema ve konular arasında hayvanların önemli bir yeri vardır. Uygur atasözlerinde de at, kurt, kuş, köpek, tavşan, ördek, eşek gibi pek çok hayvan karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Türk kültüründe atlı göçebe hayattan yerleşik yaşama kadar Türk boylarının hayatının hemen her alanında yerini alan at ise kutsal kabul edilecek kadar kıymet verilen bir hayvandır. Uygur Türkleri tarafından “makal-temsil” olarak adlandırılan atasözlerinde de atın yer aldığı pek çok örnek bulunmaktadır. Bu örnekler, Eziz Atavulla Sartekin’in “Uygur Helk makal-Temsilliri” adlı eserinden taranmış ve at konulu olan atasözleri tespit edilerek bu atasözlerinin bir kısmı incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızda atasözü örneklerinden hareketle Uygur Türklerinin kültürel hafızasındaki at, atın Türk toplumundaki yeri ve önemi, barındırdığı anlamlar gibi konularda değerlendirmeler yapılmıştır
His speeches, which are a product of the verbal literary tradition, are seen as a cultural treasure in which many material and spiritual cultural elements contain and the nations carry their past life experiences to the present day. Among the topics and subjects discussed in their speeches, animals have an important place. In the Uyghur speeches, many animals come to us, such as horses, wolves, birds, dogs, rabbits, worms, and cows. In the Turkish culture, the horse, which takes its place in almost every area of the life of the Turkish heights, from the horse to the immigrant life to the settled life, is a precious animal to be accepted as sacred. There are also many examples of the horse that the Uyghur Turks call "Article-representative" in their speech. These examples have been scaned from Eziz Atavulla Sartekin's work "Uygur Helk article-representative" and some of these speeches have been studied by identifying the speeches on the subject of the horse. In our study, by moving from speech examples, evaluations were made on topics such as the horse in the cultural memory of the Uyghur Turks, the place and importance of the horse in the Turkish society, the meanings it hosts.
