Abstract:

The role that the media takes as a guide in the political agenda or the move and opening of social movements through the media to the political arena has once again opened the media's lead role towards politics to debate. But at this point, the "ethics" topic, which is intended to be lowered to the second level in the intense agenda, is open to constant debate on how the media is in a position in the ethical sense and what the ethical understanding of the media should normally be. The fact that an ethically problematic agenda is based on the country’s politics has moved the debate a step beyond and has shown that the process of acceptance and normalization of the situation existing on the limits of the political function of the media is needed to be operated quickly. This study, which is conducted in the name of referring to the mission of the ethical and political function of the media, aims to reveal how the reflections that the written press expresses against events and situations in the sense of the ethical and political function, and how it creates through news statements. In fact, the social media has a controversial direct impact on the daily life, although not as previously, it is also observed that the newspapers show a soft power with their notes. The study also emphasized the explanation of common issues in the media and politics through the content of ethical and political concepts. In the framework of the study; the two newspapers representing the mainstream and critical media through the actions of Gezi Park have been studied by critical speech analysis method, whether ethically or in terms of content. In the review, it was observed that the statements of the newspapers in the context of power involve direct interference with the political environment, that the political statements of the party in the news are often included and that the statements contain ethically negative content are applied to place.
