Abstract:

The aim of this research study is to examine the relationship between the organizational culture of schools and the readiness level for change. In addition, characteristics of schools to determine in readiness levels for change and culture of schools are examined. In this study, simple random sampling method was used. For this purpose, a personal information form, data collection tool consisting of the readiness to change scale and organizational culture type scale were applied to 305 teachers working in secondary schools in Afyonkarahisar. As a result of the study, a significant positive correlation was found between the organizational culture achievement subscale and support culture subscale of the schools. According to the teachers’ opinions, teachers and administrators are ready for change to a great extent. The readiness of schools to change does not show a significant difference in terms of gender, seniority, educational status, and type of organizational culture in terms of gender.
