The continuity of communities greatly depend on the qualities that young people possess and contribute to the society. Growing up in a democratic society requires developing independent, self-confident, creative, free and initiative personality characteristics with decreased levels of social and personal conflicts. When a young person begins to mature in the society, he wants to control the abilities and skills he acquires as well as to evaluate is strength and power. For being able to control his skills and strengths, he desires to self-actualize himself. The initial and the most important institution an individual can self-actualize himself is his family. Families determine the behavior patterns of young people by providing role models with their own attitudes and behavior. 435 students from the faculty of business administration were involved in this study. By determining the characteristics of individuals as well as those of their families, the families’ attitudes and behavior in making important decisions concerning the young ones are examined. Above all, families’ attitudes toward the young people versus the young people’s approaches toward their families’ attitudes and behavior are studied.
