Abstract:

The games are among the elements that make the children and adults enjoy and enjoy, which have been an important place in the entertainment culture from the past to the present. Besides having fun, children play important roles in reward and punishment, communicating, learning unity and co-operation. Therefore, children will also learn some facts about life along with games. Also, games are important in terms of transmitting the traces of the past to the present day. The Turkish culture, which has a root accumulation, has children’s games that come from the past to the present and form partnership in the Turkish world. Most of the games played in the different geographics of today’s Turkish world can be found in Divânü Lugâti’t-Türk, which was painted in the 11th century. This situation shows that there has been continuity in Turkish children’s games for centuries and that cultural transfer has succeeded. In the study, the concepts and information related to games, toys and children's games were first evaluated in Divânü Lugâti't-Türk. Then the children of the Uighur games were identified in Divânü Lugâti't-Türk and they were compared. Some of the 11th century children's games were continued to be played by the Uyghur children in the 21st century.
