Abstract:

The concept of globalization, another name of the capitalist economic system, may have been able to stand until the establishment of the first trade routes as origin, but the rapid change and progress in the field of communication and technology has indeed made the emergence of industrial and commercial relations independent of time and place in a global sense. Globalization in the economy has also led to a number of cultural changes. As a result of these cultural changes, they have formed individuals and therefore societies who have adopted the consumption culture, which is a single common culture, unidentified, immortal and homeless. Previously, individuals who live their first social sharing outside their family in their neighborhood are now living on virtual environments without going out to the streets in closed housing sites. It is possible to see many films in the Turkish cinema in the early 1990s that involve the traditional neighborhood culture and life. In the 1990s, when the liberal economy began to spread in Turkey and the television increased its place in human life, the traditional neighborhood trace in the Turkish cinema is now mostly found in popular comedy films. As a result of the disappearance of the traditional neighborhood culture, the traces of the traditional neighborhood culture will be sought through popular comedy films made in the Turkish cinema after the year 2000.
