Parçalı bir istihdam yapısına sahip olan sağlık sektörü özellikle kadın istihdamının yoğunlaştığı sektörlerden biri olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Buna karşın sağlık sektöründe kadınlar doğrudan veya dolaylı birçok konuda cinsiyete dayalı ayrımcılığa maruz kalmaktadır. Bu ayrımcılıkların arasında sağlık sektöründe cinsiyete dayalı ücret ayrımcılığı dikkati çekmektedir. Profesyonel meslek mensupları arasında %35.9 ile sağlık sektöründe bazında cinsiyete dayalı ayrımcılık ilk sırada yer almaktadır. Bunun sebepleri hem arz ve talebe ilişkin özelliklere, hem de mesleki ayrımcılık ile ilişkilidir. Ankara ilinde yapılmış alan araştırması bulgularına göre, sağlık sektöründe çalışan beyaz yakalı kadınlar doğrudan cinsiyetçi ücret ayrımcılığına uğramadığı fakat ailevi sorumlulukları nedeniyle çeşitli ayrımcılıklara maruz kaldığı bulunmuştur. Bu bağlamda, beyaz yakalı kadınların ailevi öncelikleri nedeniyle erkeklerden daha düşük ücret almayı kabul ettiği tespit edilmiştir. Diğer taraftan mavi yakalılar arasında cinsiyete dayalı mesleki ayrımcılık ve bazı mesleklerinin özellikle “erkek işi” olduğuna ilişkin görüşün yaygın olması nedeniyle önemli bir cinsiyete dayalı ücret farklılığı tespit edilmiştir.
The health sector, which has a partial employment structure, stands out as one of the sectors where women’s employment is focused. However, in the health sector, women are directly or indirectly exposed to gender-based discrimination in many matters. These differences include gender-based wage discrimination in the health sector. Gender-based discrimination in the health sector is ranked first among professional professionals with 35.9%. The reasons for this are both related to the characteristics of supply and demand, as well as professional discrimination. According to the findings of the area research conducted in the Ankara province, women who work in the health sector have not been directly discriminated by gender wages but have been exposed to various discriminations due to their family responsibilities. The reasons for this difference are based on both the supply and demand characteristics and occupational segregation. According to the field study findings in Ankara, while the white-collar women working in the health sector were found not to be directly exposed to the gender wage discrimination, they were subjected to various inequalities due to their family responsibilities. In this context, it has been found that white-collar women agree to be paid lower wages than men because of their priorities for their family. On the other hand, due to the gender-based occupational segregation and the widespread belief that some occupations are male-dominated jobs, a significant gender wage gap was found among the blue-collar employees.
