Abstract:

The relations between Turks and Hungarians began in the very ancient periods of history. Although these two nations were enemies in the period in which the Ottoman progressed in the Balkans and in Europe, the XIX. Since the century, the feelings of brotherhood between the two nations have evolved. The Turkish-Hungarian relations, which came to a good level in the First World War, continued in a friendly way during the National Struggle in Anatolia. The national struggle of the Turks in Anadolu under Mustafa Kemal was closely followed by the brother Hungarian people. The Hungarians, who lost 3/2 of their territory by the Treaty of Trianon, showed this existing struggle of the Turks as an example to the nations fighting against the imperialist powers and approached the National Struggle with great sympathy. The Hungarians, who supported the National Struggle through the press broadcast, have become a voice that reveals the legitimacy of the Turkish case in Europe. The Hungarian sources, referring to Mustafa Kemal as a unique state man and commander, are also of importance in terms of proofing the aspiration of the Turkish people in Europe, who showed everything to restore their independence.         In this study, the Turks will be transmitted with the eyes of how the Hungarians have achieved the National Struggle by showing a great devotion. Here, in particular, we will talk about the support that the Hungarian Turans give to the National Struggle, which they see as a legitimate case by the Turks, the emphasis of the National Struggle in the Hungarian press and how the issue is processed in the reports of the Hungarian Embassy.
