Abstract:

It is important to create awareness of cultural heritage from childhood to society for cultural values that give identity to a society. Today, it is possible to say that cartoons are one of the most effective tools that can be used to transfer our cultural heritage to our future children. Especially in recent years, with the animated films that come to show in the cinema, it is also possible to reach large audiences that reach people of all ages, including children and young people, and to transmit cultural heritage. As one of these productions, Rafadan Tayfa 2: Göbeklitepe animated film has managed to attract attention by being the first animated film about Göbeklitepe, which is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This study aims to explore the use and presentation of the archaeological area of Göbeklitepe and local cultural objects of Rafadan Tayfa 2: Göbeklitepe animation film. Document analysis is one of the quality research methods used in the study. Comparing the visual and verbal presentations in the film and the visual and real information about the current state of structures/spaces/elements, a assessment was made in the context of the correct transmission of our cultural objects and the visual and verbal expressions were presented generally close to reality. The animated film has concluded that the cultural objects are trying to be presented in a comprehensible and interesting way by attempting to lower them to the children's level, and the film has contributed to the culture transfer and the awareness of cultural heritage.
