Özet:

This study, which was prepared as a review on the word Bogaz, was planned as a two-stage research. The first stage of the study is on the detection and interpretation of the phonetic and semantic changes of the word with both simultaneous and diachronic comparisons. The phases of the word in historical and contemporary dialects are presented to the reader with the help of tables. While trying to reveal the semantic events of the word in historical dialects, academic studies on period works were also benefited from besides period dictionaries. Thus, the meanings added to the word in the historical periods of Turkish were tried to be determined exactly. The second stage of the research is to reveal the situation of the word bogaz in terms of meaning and idiom richness through four dictionaries on Turkey Turkish. With this comparative evaluation to be made for the word, it is aimed to contribute to the Turkish Dictionaries in terms of idioms along with the basic, subordinate and metaphorical meanings of the word Bogaz. With this study, which was prepared in line with the objectives described above, it is aimed to contribute to the field in terms of both semantics and lexicography for the word bogaz, which is the name of the organ.
