Abstract:

Ahmet Kutsi Tecer, one of the most important personalities in Republican Era, is a poet who felt many feelings at the same time and presented some parts of his own life to his readers by processing these feelings in his poems. Love and affections are among the subjects that handled by poets in their works in various ways. For a poet like Ahmet Kutsi Tecer, who gives importance to human beings and their emotions, it is usual for these subjects to take place in his poems. For Tecer, love is blessed, above all. The poet, who has a pure understanding of love that lived with sincere and real feelings, doesn’t see the lover as an love object, but enriched her and gives the value she deserves. It is so that even the lover’s voice that interrupts the sleep and comes from absence, is reason for happiness, worth to waiting for years. Happiness can not be seen so frequently in a person’s life. For that reason, happy moments should be valued. For Tecer, fame, money etc. is not permanent. The real one is sharing love with the lover and being happy so. Tecer mentioned in one of his poems that he lives his life with love. In his poems, he didn’t only handle these feelings personally but also presented his readers by sharing them with the people whom he liked much or with the natural elements. In this study, Ahmet Kutsi Tecer’s love and affection view and his poems about these feelings will be analyzed and some explanations will be done by giving examples from these poems.
