Abstract:

Work-family conflict is closely related to many variables such as the mental and physical health of employees, life satisfaction, organizational commitment and performance. Therefore, it is important to identify the determiners of work-family conflict. The purpose of the study is to investigate whether the compulsory citizenship behavior in hotel workers causes work-family conflict and whether the perception of work-family conflict according to gender differs or not. The staff of a five-star hotel operating in the Antalya Belek region are the universe of research. From a total of 227 participants working at the hotel, data were collected in July 2019 with a simple sample method and self-evaluation surveys. The analysis of the data was used by SPSS and AMOS 23.0 programs. Structural models have been used to test the research hypotheses. The results of the analysis have found that compulsory citizenship behavior significantly and positively affects the work-family conflict. Moreover, the positive impact of compulsory citizenship behavior on employment-family conflict has been identified by multi-group analysis in which women hotel employees are stronger than men.
