This article deals with the concept of flâneur and the flaneur’s experience of the city and time, based on Walter Benjamin's work called Arcades Project. By the capitalist industrialization in Europe, the aristocracy left its place to the bourgeoisie. The production commodities revealed by capitalist industrialization were exhibited in the arcades in Paris, which was considered the capital of capitalism in the 19th century. The flâneur, under the spell of this new way of life, contemplates the city with an experience and meaning that lacks totality. In this article, the flâneur and its search for lost time and meaning will be examined.
