Çocuk istismarı, çocuğun kısa ve uzun vadede ciddi tıbbi, psikolojik ve sosyal sorunlar yaşamasına neden olan bir sosyal sorundur. Mağdur ve yakınlarının damgalanma kaygısı yaşaması nedeni ile tespit edilen istatiksel veriler buz dağının görünen kısmıdır. Hekim, hemşire, psikolog ve sosyal hizmet uzmanı gibi birçok profesyonel bu sorunun tespiti, rehabilitasyonu ve önlenmesinde görev almaktadır. Bu çalışmada hekimlerin çocuk ihmal ve istismarı hakkındaki görüşleri, vakayı nasıl tespit ettikleri ve raporladıkları, nasıl etkilendikleri ve yaşadıkları zorluklar nitel olarak araştırılmıştır. Hekimlerin ihmal ve istismarla ilgili aldıkları eğitimin yeterli olduğunu düşündükleri, istismar vakalarını yıpratıcı buldukları ve öfke, üzüntü yaşadıkları, muayene sürelerinin yetersizliğinin ihmal ve istismarın tespitini zorlaştırdığı, raporlama aşamasında çocuğun nasıl etkileneceği konusunda kaygı duydukları saptanmıştır.
Child abuse is a social problem that causes a child to experience serious medical, psychological and social problems in the short and long term. Statistical data identified with the cause of the victim and his relatives who are concerned about signing are the visible part of the ice mountain. Many professionals, such as doctors, nurses, psychologists and social services specialists, are engaged in the detection, rehabilitation and prevention of this problem. In this study, the doctors’ opinions about child neglect and abuse, how they detect and report the case, how they are affected and the difficulties they experience, have been examined as characteristic. The doctors found that they thought the education they received about neglect and abuse was sufficient, they found the cases of abuse devastating, and they were concerned about how the child would be affected in the reporting phase, when they experienced anger, sadness, the lack of time of examination made it difficult to detect neglect and abuse.
Child abuse is a social problem that causes the child to experience serious medical, psychological and social problems in the short and long term. The statistical numbers determined due to the stigma anxiety of the victims and their relatives reflect a small part of the problem. Many professionals such as doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers are involved in the detection, rehabilitation and prevention of this problem. In this study, doctors' views on child neglect and abuse, how they detected and reported the case, how they were affected and the difficulties they experienced were qualitatively investigated. It was determined that the physicians thought that the education they received about neglect and abuse was sufficient, they found the cases of abuse wearing out, they experienced anger and sadness, the inadequacy of the examination times made it difficult to detect the neglect and abuse, and they were concerned about how the child would be affected at the reporting stage.
