Abstract:

This article discusses the story writing experience with six bachelor students taking EDB 411 and 412 Turkology Studies (Group B) courses in the 2012-13 academic year. The question that starts this experience is, "Is it possible to write a fairy tale by following the basic structure of the traditional fairy tale and the principles of creative writing?" has been. The purpose of the writing is to show those who want to write fictional text the importance of both reading traditional literature as a writing attempt and taking advantage of its form characteristics. The text consists of four sections: in the first part, through Holbek and Lüthi, we provide brief information about the structure of the traditional fairy tale. In the second section, some of the suggestions made to contemporary creative writers candidates are listed. In the third chapter, the cross- and separated directions of both text traditions are determined. The last part also tells the story writing experience with the students and the story of the four students is summarized according to Holbek's fifth action system. At the end of the article, the effects of this experience are emphasized as follows: Students who experience creative writing have an uncertain, satisfying feeling and self-confidence. Although you have form knowledge, word treasure, linguistic knowledge, reading habits, imagination, feelings, and the ability to reflect all of this, you may not be a writer at all. You need to have the skills and writing skills before you have all of this.
