Abstract:

The new period elections for the European Parliament in which all European voters voted were held in May 2019. Like the Brexit in the European Union, sudden changes have affected the elections. The EPP and S&D, the two main groups in the elections, lost the parliamentary majority for the first time. In addition, the European Parliament’s participation in the 2019 elections has gained a significant boost by exceeding 50%. The decline of traditional political understanding and the rise of new political movements have become an important topic in the discussions about the future of the union. This article discusses the 2019 European Parliament elections, the political speech and policies at the EU level, the general analysis of elections, the goals and appearances that political groups have shown in and after these elections, the interaction of political groups with the national parties that are members of them. Political groups can be claimed to be an interesting and new topic in the field of political party work.
