Bu çalışmada Dede Korkut Hikâyelerinde ad verme geleneğini etkileyen faktörler ve ön plana çıkan eğitsel değerler ele alınmıştır. Bu sebeple ad verme geleneği ile eğitsel değerlerin ilişkisi kurulmaya çalışılırken hikâyelerden yararlanılmıştır. Dede Korkut Hikâyeleri on iki hikâye ve bir ön sözden oluşan Türklerin kültür ve edebiyat mirasıdır. Bu çalışmada Dede Korkut Kitabının, sadece bir hikâye kitabı olarak ele alınmaması gerektiği, aynı zamanda Oğuzların değer yargıları, inançları, dilleri, kültürleri, sosyal hayatları hakkında birçok ipucu veren bir kaynak kitap olduğu ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda ad vermenin önemine dikkat çekilmiştir. Bütün kültürlerde ad verme bir gelenekten ziyade bir zorunluluk olarak var olmuştur. Eski Türklerde ise ad verme bir gelenek ve kültür öğesi olarak kabul edilmiştir. Araştırmada tarama tekniği kullanılmış, Muharrem Ergin’in Dede Korkut Hikâyeleri kitabı ve bu konu üzerinde yapılan bilimsel çalışmalar incelenmiştir. Yapılan incelemede elli yedi kişi adı belirlenmiştir; ancak belirlenen adlar arasında sadece verilme hikâyesi olan Boğaç ve Bamsı Beyrek adları ele alınmıştır. Bunların yanı sıra hikâyesi olmayıp eğitsel değer taşıyan adlara da yer verilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda Dede Korkut Hikâyelerindeki ad verme geleneğinin sadece erkek çocuklarda uygulandığı, erdemlilik, saygınlık, vatanseverlik, kahramanlık, fedakârlık gibi değerlerden etkilendiği, ayrıca ad vermenin bir dilek anlamı da taşıdığı, adı alan kişinin hayatının ve toplumsal değerinin değiştiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
This study discussed the factors that influence the tradition of naming and educational values that come to the forefront in Grandma's Horror Stories. This is why the tradition of giving names and the relationship of educational values is being used when trying to establish. Dede Korkut Stories is a cultural and literary heritage of the Turkish people, which consists of twelve stories and one preface. In this study, it was attempted to find out that the Book of Forgiveness should not only be treated as a story book, but also a source book that gives many clues about the values of the sons, their beliefs, their languages, their cultures, and their social life. In this context, the importance of giving an ad was noted. In all cultures, it has existed as an obligation rather than a tradition. In ancient Turks, it was considered to be a tradition and a cultural element. The research used the scanning technique, the book of Muharrem Ergin's Grandfather's Horror Stories and scientific studies on this topic were studied. In the study, fifty-seven people were named, but among the named names were discussed only the names of the Boğaç and Bamsı Beyrek, which were given the story. The name of the story is not a story, but a story that is not a story. The study found that the tradition of naming in Grandfather's Horror Stories applies only to boys, is influenced by values such as virtue, respect, patriotism, heroism, sacrifice, and that naming also has a desire meaning, the life and social value of the person named changes.
