Abstract:

Astronomy and science are the sources that feed each other. Students who study in the primary school departments have identified astronomical conceptual errors in the research contained that teachers have developed many alternative concepts related to astronomical concepts, not even sure of the correct answers they give to the questions found in the applied scales. The purpose of the research is to uncover the cognitive structures of the science-knowledge teachers candidates towards the basic concepts of the subject of astronomy and the existing conceptual errors. The case study (Case Study) is used. The participants of the study are formed by 64 teachers candidates who are studying in the 4th grade of the Department of Science and Science. The study used the Word Relationship Test (KIT) as a data collection tool. The chosen key concepts are Astronomy, Astronot, Space, Planet, Solar System, Astrology, Blackness, Sky, Star, Astreoid, and Curved Star. The teacher candidates were given explanations for the KIT and each concept was given an average of 30 seconds. The research finds the link between the concepts of star and corner star. It can also be interpreted in the form that the notion of blackness calls the notions of black and emptiness can be a concept mistake.
