Globalization, on the one hand, paves the way for assumptions about single world state and creates opportunities for local politics by dividing central nation-state into small administrative units that are easier to govern, on the other. It is possible to say that the sovereignty of the state is narrowed in terms of political, economic, legal and administrative matters. In the source of these developments, localization which is triggered by globalization makes local politics more and more arguable. In this study, the transformation of local politics is examined theoretically on the axis of globalization–localization.
