Bu araştırmada fen bilgisi öğretmen adaylarının TEOG (Temel Eğitimden Ortaöğretime Geçiş) içerik bilgisi açısından üstün yetenekliler ve ortaokul öğrencileri ile karşılaştırılmaları amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmaya WISC‐R testi ile tanılanmış sekizinci sınıf 14 üstün yetenekli öğrenci (6 Erkek, 8 Kız), 89 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi (38 erkek, 51 kız) ve üçüncü sınıftaki 49 fen ve teknoloji öğretmen adayı (14 erkek, 35 kız) katılmıştır. Çalışmada nicel bir eğilim takip edilmiş olup, karşılaştırmalı araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin TEOG puanı olarak sınavda yaptıkları doğru sayısı, öğretmen adaylarının da aynı testte yaptıkları doğru sayısı veri olarak kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler Kruskal Wallis testi yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. İkili karşılaştırmalar için ise Mann Whitney U testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre üstün yetenekli öğrenciler diğer öğrencilere ve öğretmen adaylarına göre en yüksek TEOG puanlarını elde etmişlerdir ve gruplar arasındaki fark istatistiksel olarak anlamlıdır. Sonuç olarak öğretmen adaylarının sekizinci sınıflarla benzer bir TEOG içerik bilgisi düzeyine sahip oldukları üstün yetenekli öğrencilerden ise daha düşük düzeyde içerik bilgisi düzeyine sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir.
The purpose of this study is to compare TEOG(Passing Test From Based Education to Secondary Education) scores of prospective science teachers with the scores of middle school gifted and non‐gifted students on the TEOG. The participants of the study involved 14 eighth grade gifted middle school students identified with WISC‐R application, 89 eighth grade non‐gifted students and 49 junior prospective science teachers. In the study quantitative approach was used while causal‐comparative research method was used to investigate problem of the study. As the data of the study, numbers of correct answers given to TEOG items by the participants were used. The data were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis Test with Mann Whitney U test as post hoc test. The findings of the study showed that gifted students had higher scores than non‐gifted students and prospective science teachers and the difference was statistically significant.
