Abstract:

Review of the relationship between teachers' lifelong learning trends and e-learning preparations
2020

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the relationship between the lifelong learning trends of the teacher candidates and their e-learning preparations. The research has used both the scanning model and the relative scanning model. The research work group is made up of the Van Hundred Years University School of Education students who are studying in the 2019-2020 educational-educational year. In the collection of research data, the "Personal Information Form" developed by researchers, developed by Gür Erdoğan and Arsal (2016) and developed by Yurdugül and Iron (2015) with the "Level of E-learning Preparation of University Students" was used. The analysis of the data was used by the SPSS 25.0 package program. Impressive statistics have been used when determining the lifelong learning trends and prepared findings of teachers candidates for e-learning. For comparison processes, it is checked whether the distribution is normal. In cases that meet the normality assumptions, independent sampling t-test and Anova test; in cases that do not meet the normality assumptions, Mann-Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis test were applied. The Pearson correlation test was also conducted to identify the existence and absence of a meaningful relationship between the lifelong learning trends of the teacher candidates and the e-learning preparations. The findings of the study have found that the tendency to lifelong learning in teachers candidates is high. The teacher’s preparedness for e-learning is at the middle level. When the subfactors of lifelong learning trends are studied, the highest average factor is the internet self-sufficiency factor, the lowest average factor is the computer self-sufficiency factor. The lifelong learning tendency in teachers candidates has varied significantly according to the gender, the study part and the class level variables. The preparation for e-learning of the teaching candidates has not varied significantly according to the variables of the part and class level of the study, while the gender variable has not varied significantly according to the variables. A meaningful relationship has been established in a positive and middle-level direction between the lifelong learning trends of the teacher candidates and the e-learning preparation.

Examination Of The Relationship Between Teacher Candidates' Lifelong Learning Tendencies and Their Readiness For E-learning
2020

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between teacher candidates' lifelong learning tendencies and their readiness for e-learning. Both the scanning model and the relational scanning model were used in the research. The study group of the research consists of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Education Faculty students studying in the 2019-2020 academic year. The "Personal Information Form" developed by the researchers, the "Lifelong Learning Tendency Scale" developed by Gür Erdoğan and Arsal (2016) and the "University Students' E-Learning Readiness Scale" developed by Yurdugül and Demir (2015) were used to collect the research data. SPSS 25.0 package program was used to analyze the collected data. Descriptive statistics were used to determine teacher candidates' lifelong learning tendencies and their readiness towards e-learning. For comparison operations, it was checked whether the distribution was normal or not. Independent sample t-test and Anova test in cases that provide normality assumptions; Mann-Whitney-U test and Kruskal Wallis test were used in cases that did not provide normality assumptions. In addition, Pearson correlation test was used to detect the presence or absence of a significant relationship between pre-service teachers' lifelong learning tendencies and their readiness for e-learning. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that the lifelong learning tendency of teacher candidates is at a high level. It was found that teacher candidates' readiness for e-learning was moderate. When the sub-factors of lifelong learning tendencies were examined, it was found that the factor with the highest average was the internet self-efficacy factor, while the factor with the lowest average was the computer self-efficacy factor. The lifelong learning tendency of teacher candidates differed significantly according to the variables of gender, department and grade level. While the readiness of teacher candidates for e-learning differed significantly according to the variables of the department and grade level they were educated, it did not differ significantly according to the gender variable. A positive and moderately significant relationship was found between the teacher candidates' lifelong learning tendencies and their readiness for e-learning.
