Bu çalışmanın amacı, destek odalarında özel yetenekli öğrencilerle çalışan öğretmenlerin görüşlerinin derinlemesine incelenmesidir. Nitel araştırma yöntemi ve durum çalışması olarak kurgulanan bu çalışmaya BİLSEM öğrencilerine destek odası eğitimi veren öğretmenler katılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğretmenlerin belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden ölçüt ve kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemi birlikte kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış bir görüşme formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır.
Araştırma sonucuna göre; özel yetenekli öğrencilerin dil ve konuşma becerileri açısından diğer öğrencilere nazaran daha iyi durumda bulundukları, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin diğer öğrencilere göre daha dikkatli oldukları ve daha iyi bir gözlem gücüne sahip oldukları, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin eleştirel düşünme becerilerinin ileri seviyede olduğu, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin yaratıcılık seviyesi bakımından akranlarına göre daha iyi durumda olduğu, özel yetenekli öğrencilerin soyut düşünme becerisi yönünden çok iyi durumda oldukları, ders müfredatının özel yetenekli öğrencilerin ihtiyaçlarını karşılamada yetersiz olduğu, özel yetenekli öğrencilere hayal güçlerini kullanarak özgün eserler vermelerini sağlamak açısından kendilerine destek verildiği, özel yetenekli çocukların liderlik vasıflarının akranlarına göre daha üst seviyede denilebilse de bu özelliği bütün hepsi için söyleyemeyeceğimiz anlaşılmaktadır.
The aim of this study is to examine the opinions of teachers working with gifted students in support rooms. BİLSEM teachers in participated in this study, which was designed as a qualitative research method and case study. In determining the teachers participating in the research, criterion and easily accessible sampling method, which are among the purposeful sampling methods, were used together. Research data were collected using a semi-structured interview form developed by the researcher.
According to the results of the research; In terms of language and speaking skills, gifted students are not in a better situation than other students, gifted students are more careful than other students and have a better observation power, gifted students' critical thinking skills are at an advanced level, and gifted students' creativity level Special gifted students are in a better position than their peers, gifted students are in a very good position in terms of abstract thinking skills, the course curriculum is insufficient to meet the needs of gifted students, gifted students are supported to create original works by using their imaginations, leadership qualities of gifted children are better than their peers. It is understood that we cannot say this feature for all of them, although it can be said to be at a higher level than
