Abstract:

Faith tourism increases its market share in global tourism mobility where alternative tourism and related tourist product diversity has gained importance, while Turkey is one of the attractions frequently visited in the direction of religious axis destinations it possesses. In the historical process, the rich accumulation of Turkey, which hosts different civilizations, is the center of cultural and religious interactions, has become a place in international tourism mobility, with the current or potential faith tourism destinations channel. The spiritual spaces experienced by visitors from different geographics each year are a rich source of data for the world of science. The interest shown in the religious and cultural places where historical and cultural heritage, integrated with the roots of faith, has been and continues to be the subject of scientific research in the field of tourism of special interest. In the indigenous field, although there are bibliometric studies published in the tourism field, there has been no bibliometric studies addressing the subject of tourism of pure faith and the theses written on this title. From here, this study, between 1998-2019 years, aims to study the master's and doctor's theses, with the expression "credo tourism" in the title, at specific criteria. In accordance with this objective, 47 theses open to access in the YÖK thesis center were analyzed by examining. The theses are studied under the titles 'type', 'year', 'university', 'institutes', 'discipline branch', 'signature', 'page number, 'distribution by regions' and 'research method'. The results obtained were interpreted by statistical data and aimed at contributing to subsequent scientific studies.
