Bilgi kapasitesinin arttırılması yoluyla yeni ürünler, yeni üretim teknikleri, yeni bilgiler ve yeni teknolojilerin kaynağı olarak tanımlanan Ar-Ge (Araştırma-Geliştirme) faaliyetleri günümüz iktisat yazınında ağırlıklı olarak büyüme modelleri içinde değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı, Ar-Ge harcamalarındaki değişimin ekonomik büyüme değişkeninin yanında diğer makroekonomik göstergelere ne düzeyde etkide bulunduğunu analiz etmektir. Böylece, bu çalışmada Ar-Ge harcamalarının yüksek teknolojili ürün ihracatı, toplam ihracat, cari denge ve ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkileri, seçilmiş 10 OECD ülkesi için 2000-2016 dönemi verileri kullanılarak yatay kesit bağımlılığı altında Panel Nedensellik ve Panel VAR testleri yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda, söz konusu değişkenler arasında nedensellik ilişkisi tespit edilmiş; elde edilen bulgular, etki-tepki fonksiyonları ve varyans ayrıştırması sınanmalarıyla desteklenmiştir.
R&D discussions, which are defined as the source of new products, new production techniques, new information and new technologies by increasing the information capacity, have been evaluated in growth models in the contemporary literature. The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of the change in R&D expenditures on other macroeconomic indicators besides economic growth. Thus, in this study, the effects of R&D expenditures on high-tech product exports, total exports, current balance and economic growth were analyzed with the help of panel causality and panel VAR Tests under the cross-sectional dependence by using the data of 2000-2016 period for the selected 10 OECD countries. In this context, the causality relationship between these variables was determined; The findings were supported by impact-response functions and variance decomposition tests.
