Abstract:

In this study, material for inclined plane subject in secondary school 8th-grade simple machine unit was developed, opinions of teachers and students about the use of the material in teaching were taken. The case study which is one of the qualitative research designs was used in this study. The study group included 38 students in 8th grade and 10 science teachers. The data were collected through the interview form developed by the researchers with semi-structured interviews and were analyzed by content analysis. Teachers participating in the study think that the material is convenient for the 8th grade level; was prepared in a way that is understandable and could be used by students on their own, is appropriate to the content, effective in making subject comprehensible, suitable for the duration of the lesson and increasing the interest of the students towards the course. The students indicated that the material facilitated learning, its use was simple and they could use it on their own and it would be useful to use material on other subjects in science teaching. In conclusion, students and teachers think that it is appropriate to use the developed material in the science course
