Objective: Evaluate the anthropometric and somatotype profile of university footballplayers according to their field position. Sample: 24 athletes of 24,67±3,94 years from UNIVERSO footballteam composed the sample. Methods: Weight, height and body fat percentage (through skinfolds) measurements were taken. Somatotype was determined through Heath-Carter method. Means and standard deviations were calculated. Data were analyzed using ANOVA followed by the Bonferroni post hoctest usingsoftware Stata 9.1. Somatotype and somatographs were calculated using the software Somatotype. Results: Mean body fat percentage was 9,95±3,28. There was no statistical difference for all variables between the players field positions, except for height comparing center backs with running backs. Somatotype wasendomorphic-mesomorph. Discussion: Mean body fat percentage was similiar to the results found in other studies. The statistical difference for height of center backs is confirmed by other studies. Conclusion: There was no statistical difference for anthropometric data and somatotype, except for height.
