Abstract:

Purpose: Sensitivity-reducing toothpaste is in constant contact with the teeth and oral tissues throughout the application period. The agents inside the mice should not ideally damage oral tissues, they should help to heal the tissues. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects on the vitality of the L929 mouse fibroblast cells of three different toothpaste commonly used to eliminate the sensitivity of the dent. Tools and Methods: The original extract of the tested potatoes was dissolved with the Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) cultural environment, and treated three different concentrations. L929 mouse fibroblast cells were exposed to three different concentrations of 25%, 12% and 6% of butterflies (n=12). Cell vitality was assessed by the MTT test. The control group’s cell vitality was equated to 100%, and the data were statistically evaluated by one-way ANOVA and post-hoc Tukey’s HSD tests. Results: Three different concentrations of 25% and 12% and 6% of the tested potatoes were also observed to have cytotoxic effects on L929 cells compared to the control group (p<0.05). It has been shown that there is a percentage significant difference between the material’s cell vitality values (p<0.05). Results: All of the sensitivity deterrent toothpaste tested according to the results of this study showed different degree of cytotoxic effects. The data obtained in vitro is limited because it is not possible to fully imitate the entire complex oral environment. This study should be supported by more detailed cell culture tests and clinical tests.
