The measurement of patient satisfaction in health care services is an important measure of quality service provision. The aim of this study was to determine hospitalized patient satisfaction in a public hospital and the related factors affecting satisfaction. Patient satisfaction survey was applied to 120 hospitalized patients during face to face interviews. The major components of healthcare satisfaction were analysed separately as: the personal characteristics of patients, healthcare staffs, physical conditions of healthcare services. The patient satisfaction coefficient was 94.65 %. Factors affecting satisfaction were analysed by regression analysis. The relationships of socio-demographic factors with patient satisfaction was found insignificant (p>0.05). The major factors affecting hospitalized patient satisfaction were communication skills of healthcare staff, acknowledgement of nurses about procedures , safety of hospital, cleaning services (p<0,001). The major factors determining advisability of healthcare services were hotel & cleaning services of hospital and communication skills of staff , safety of hospital (p<0.05) .The results of this study suggested that creating a patient safety culture and empowering communication skills of staffs will increase patient satisfaction.
