Son yıllarda Doğu Akdeniz'de bir dizi doğal gaz ve petrol gibi fosil yakıt sahalarının keşfiyle, Doğu Akdeniz bölgesindeki bölge devletleri başta olmak üzere diğer büyük güçler arasında strateji hamleleri ve taktik mücadeleleri hız kazanmıştır. Doğu Akdeniz’de keşfedilen doğal gaz ve petrol rezervlerinin paylaşımı, bölge devletlerinin ve büyük güçlerin mevcut durumdaki en kritik enerji politik sorunlarından biri pozisyonundadır. Bu çalışmada ele alınan alan Doğu Akdeniz'deki Levant bölgesidir. Çıkarılacak olan enerji kaynakları bölge devletlerinin enerji ticaretinde ihracat yapan devlet olmalarının yolunu açma fırsatı sunacaktır ve bunun sonucu olarak bu durum bölgedeki güç dengelerini şekillendirmeye başlamıştır. Doğu Akdeniz, özellikle Orta Doğu devletleri için çıkış kapısı olarak önemli bir geçittir. Bütün bu gerçekler tarihin bir çok döneminde olduğu gibi bugün de bu bölgeyi önemli kılmaktadır. Meydana gelen bu şartlar, Türkiye’yi son derece ilgilendirmektedir. Türkiye'nin Münhasır Ekonomik Bölgesini de kapsayan bu bölgedeki bütün gelişmeler, Türkiye'nin de içinde olduğu ve Türkiye'yi bizzat ilgilendiren gelişmeler olmaktadır. Bölge devletlerinin ve büyük güçlerin bu sahada mücadele ve rekabet içinde olmasının bir sonraki safhası, güvenlik ile alakalı sorunlara evrileceği şeklinde bir tablo ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada, enerji politikaları uygulamaları bakımından Doğu Akdeniz’ in yeri ve önemi anlatılmış ve devletlerin bu alanda arama ve kaynak çıkarma faaliyetleri ile ilgili gelişmeler ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır.
In recent years, with the discovery of a number of natural gas and oil fields in the Eastern Mediterranean, the regional states in the Eastern Mediterranean region have accelerated strategic movements and tactical struggles among other major powers, mainly. The sharing of natural gas and oil reserves discovered in the Eastern Mediterranean is one of the most critical energy-political issues in the current situation of the regional states and major powers. The area addressed in this study is the Levant area in the Eastern Mediterranean. The energy sources to be extinguished will provide the opportunity for the regional states to become the state exporting in the energy trade, and as a result, this situation has begun to shape the power balance in the region. The Eastern Mediterranean is an important gateway, especially for the Middle East countries. All these facts, as in many times of history, make this region important today. This situation is very concerned with Turkey. All developments in this region, which also covers the exclusive economic area of Turkey, are developments that are within Turkey and which are concerned with Turkey personally. The next stage of the fighting and competition of regional states and great powers in this field shows a picture of the way it will evolve into security-related issues. In this study, the place and importance of the Eastern Mediterranean in terms of energy policy practices were explained and the developments in the state’s search and resource extraction activities in this area were attempted to be revealed.
