Geçmiş, insanlar tarafından her zaman ilgi görmüştür ve ilgi görmeye de devam edecektir. Savaşlar ve siyaset dışında, özellikle toplumda yaşayan bireylerin geçmişte nasıl yaşadığı ve neler yaptığı ise ayrı bir merak konusu olmuştur. Bu ilginç konuları, siyasi olayların ele alındığı tarih kitaplarında bulmak mümkün değildir. Ancak Osmanlı Devleti döneminde tutulan defterler, kayıtlar ve belgelerde o dönem insanlarının günlük yaşamı ile ilgili azımsanamayacak miktarda veriler bulunmaktadır. Osmanlı Devleti, kendine bağlı olan en küçük kazaya dahi bir kadı göndererek oradaki her türlü olayı kayıt altına aldırmıştır. Bu kayıtlar Şer’iyye Sicilleri adıyla defterler halinde muhafaza edilerek günümüze kadar ulaşmış en değerli kültürel miraslarımızdandır. Bu defterler sayesinde Osmanlı toplumunun gündelik yaşamları hakkında orijinal bilgiler elde edebilmekteyiz. 1890 yılının küçük bir Osmanlı kazası olan, bu günkü Konya ilimizin Seydişehir ilçesinde de, kadılar tarafından 12 adet defter tutulmuştur. Bu makalede Seydişehir Şer’iyye Sicillerinden 235 no’lu defter araştırılmıştır. İncelenen bu defterin en ilginç yönü, kayıtlı olan 67 davadan çoğunun kadınlarla ilgili olmasıdır. Gerek mahkemede gerekse Osmanlı toplumunda kadın ve onun etkinliği hakkında birçok ham bilginin bulunduğu bu nadide defter sayesinde, kadınların toplumsal açıdan herhangi bir eşitsizliğe maruz kalmadıkları; hukuk kurallarının kendilerine çizdiği sınırları kullanarak en az erkekler kadar hak aramada aktif oldukları tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada Seydişehir örneği üzerinden Osmanlı kadını ve onun adalet arayışı hakkındaki meraklarımızı gidermeye çalışacağız.

The past is a matter of curiasity for human being. There are people who are interested in how others lived and what they did in the past apart from wars and politicks. İt is impossible to find this interesting topicks in the history book which gives information about political events but , there are a lot of inforation about the lifestyle of that period people in the documents that were written during the Ottomon Empire. The Ottomon sent a judge even if the smallest district it ruled for registering each event that occured. This registers, which have been protected under the name of legal registers, are our of the most important cultural heritages. Thanks to this registers, we get original information about the daily lifestyleof Ottomon society. İn Konya, Seydişehir, 12 records were kept by judges, which was a small district of Ottomon in 1890 for this Article, the 235 Seydişehir legal register has been analysed the most important part of this register is that there was 67 court case and must of them were about women. With the help of this precious register which includes lots of rough information about women in Ottomon and her effects, it has been established that the women weren’t exposed to inequality in point of social; they were as active as the men to insist on themselves rights, using within limits determined by the law codes. In this work we will try to satisfy our curiosity on the Otoman women and their way of searching for justice through Seydişehir example.
