Abstract:

The important subject of education is to improve the learning potential of students. Group project work is an important tool for developing students’ learning capabilities. However, the influence of the group leader on the efficiency of group work should also be considered as an important factor. Our goal is to see how much group members working as a group in higher education develop their group skills and how much the group leader contributes to the development of group skills. In this study, a total of 125 students, including 25 ordinary teachers and 33 secondary teachers in the 2nd period of 2005/2006 and 33 ordinary teachers and 34 secondary teachers in the 2nd period of 2006/2007 took part, taking the "sales management" course of the MYO Business Program. The results of the study showed that the leader plays an important role in the development of group skills and that group project work contributes significantly to the development of group skills.
