Kırâat farklılıkları iki kategoride ele alındığında birisi ferşî farklılıklar, diğeri ise usûl farklılıkları olmaktadır. Ferşü’l-hurûf diye de ifade edilen farklılıklar, sûrelerin tamamına yakınında dağınık bir şekilde bulunan ve bir kurala da tabi olmayan, sadece rivâyete dayalı olarak ortaya çıkan ihtilaflardır. Kavâid-i külliye olarak da ifade edilen usûl farklılıkları ise aynı şekilde ‘Kur’ân’ın tamamını kapsayan ve hükmü bir tarz üzere kesintisiz devam eden şeydir’ diye tarif edilir. İmâle, beyne, işmâm, nakil, sekte ve teshil gibi birçok konu bu başlık altında toplanabilmektedir. Onlardan birisi de idğâm’dır. İdğâm başlığı altında idğâma konu olan harflerin durumuna göre vacip, câiz ve mümtenî ilk harfin sâkin olup olmama durumuna göre sağîr ve kebîr birinci harfin ikinciye tam dönüşüp dönüşmemesiyle ilgili kâmil/tâm ve nâkıs idğâm gibi konular işlenmektedir. İdğâmın iki kelime arasında gerçekleşmesi esastır. Zira idğâmın çoğu da bu türdendir. Bununla birlikte bazı fiil kalıpları tek kelime içinde de idğâma imkân tanımaktadır. Kur’ân’da birçok örneği bulunan bu uygulama, kırâat farklılıkları bağlamında ele alınacak ve Arap dil bilimindeki karşılığına kısmen de olsa değinilecektir.
When the recitation differences are considered in two categories, they are divided into two parts, one of which is usūl differences and the other is fershī differences. The fershī differences, also called such as Fersh al hurūf, are conflicts based only on narration, which are scattered over almost all of the sūras and are not subject to any rule. The differences in usūl, which are also expressed as Qawāid al kulliyya, are described as "the thing that covers the whole of the Qur'an and its ruling continues uninterruptedly in a style". Many topics such as imāla, beyne, ishmām, naql, sekte, teshī l can be listed under this title. One of them is idghām and under this heading, topics such as wajip, permissible, munteniʿ according to the status of the letters subjected to idgham; sagīr and kebīr according to whether the first letter is consonant or not; kāmil/tām and nāqis idghām related to whether the first letter is fully transformed into the second are covered. Idghām usually takes place between two words. With this, some verb patterns allow idgham in a single word. In this study, this practice, which has many examples in the Qur'an, will be discussed in the context of recitation differences and its equivalent in Arabic linguistics will be partially touched.
