Abstract:

The unregistered economy, expressed by different concepts, constitutes one of the most important problems that Turkey faces. Although the losses of the non-registered economy are not countable, the most important ones can be counted as follows: the non-registered economy creates a barrier to the EU’s full membership path, disrupting its GDP accounts and reducing its tax revenues makes it impossible or quite difficult to development. Again, the unregistered economy, workers, employers and the government are causing significant disadvantages, criminal activities that form a kind of unregistered economy bring the country and society to the point of collapse, the concentration of the economy in the cities leads to urban employment and environmental problems. No matter what kind of measures are taken, if there is no sufficient social awareness about the damages of the unregistered economy, it is quite difficult even if it is impossible to success against the unregistered economy. The read habit is extremely weak, but the TV view habit is quite strong in Turkey with public spots to be watched on television, creating awareness in the public about the harm of the unregistered economy, is vital for success in the fight against the unregistered economy.
