Suç, belirli bir zamana veya mekâna göre farklılık arz etse de tarihin başlangıcından beri var olmuş, tarih sahnesinden şimdiye dek silinmemiş çok eski bir olgudur. Suç, mekânsal boyut ile de ele alınmış ve genel bir kanaate, modern karmaşık kent toplumlarında geçmişe nazaran çeşitlenmiş ve farklılaşmıştır. Bu anlamda, kentlerde daha farklı ve fazla suç işlendiği ön kabulünden yola çıkarak çalışmada kent, çalışma alanı seçilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, 2009-2019 yılları arasında Siirt şehrinde polis sorumluluk bölgesi içerisinde meydana gelen suç türlerinin cinsiyete, yaşa, eğitime, medeni duruma ve çeşitli değişkenlere göre dağılışı üzerinde durulmuştur. Çalışmada, Siirt İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü (Kaçakçılık ve Organize Suçlarla Mücadele Birimi, Asayiş Birimi, Güvenlik Şube ve Çocuk Birimi) ve Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu Siirt Bölge Müdürlüğü’nden alınan veriler kullanılmıştır. Siirt’te en fazla suç işlenen yıl 2014 yılı (5.657), en az suç işlenen yıl 2009 yılı (2.623) olmakla birlikte, 2009-2019 yılları arasında toplam 50.592 suç işlenmiştir. Bu suçlar içinde ilk sırayı asayiş suçları (40.030) almakla birlikte asayiş suçları içerisinde kasten-taksirle yaralama (14.364) suçu en fazla işlenen suç olmuştur. Ortaya çıkan sonuçlar sosyal, ekonomik ve demografik özelliklerin suç üzerinde doğrudan etkili olduğunu göstermiştir.
The crime is a very ancient phenomenon that has existed since the beginning of history, which has not yet been removed from the stage of history. Crime has also been dealt with in spatial dimensions and has been varied and differentiated from the past in a general canate, modern complex urban communities. In this sense, from the pre-acceptance that more and more crimes are committed in the cities, the work area in the study was chosen. The study focused on the distribution of the types of crimes that occur within the police responsibility area in Siirt between 2009 and 2019 according to gender, age, education, civic status and various variables. In the study, the data received from the Siirt Provincial Security Directorate (Combat and Organized Crime Unit, Asayiş Unit, Security Branch and Child Unit) and the Turkish Statistical Authority Siirt Regional Directorate were used. The year committed crime by Siirt was 2014 (5.657), the year committed crime was 2009 (2.623) while a total of 50.592 crimes were committed between 2009 and 2019. In these crimes the first place was the assyrial crimes (40.030) and the assyrial crimes were the deliberately injured crimes (14.364) which were committed with crime. The findings show that social, economic and demographic characteristics have a direct impact on crime.
Although crime differs according to a specific time or place, it is a very old phenomenon that has been existed since the beginning of history and has not been erased from the stage of history up to now. Crime has also been addressed with a spatial dimension, has become different, and been varied in general opinion, compared to past in modern complex urban societies. In this sense, the study area is chosen based on the presumption that type of crimes are becoming diversified and crime rate is higher in cities. It focuses on the distribution of types of crimes that committed in responsibility zone of Siirt provincial directorate of security from 2009 to 2019 years, according to gender, age, education, marital status and various variables. In the study, Siirt Provincial Security Directorate (Deparment of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime, Department of Public Order, Security Branch and Children Unit) and data obtained from Regional Directorate of Siirt Turkey Statistical Institute. In Siirt, the year with the highest number of crimes was 2014 (5.657) and the least crime was committed in 2009 (2.623), with 50.592 crimes committed from 2009 to 2019 years. Although security crimes (40,030) take the first place among these crimes, willful reckless injury (14.364) was the most committed crime among Crime against Public order. The obtained results accentuated that social, economic and demographic features have immediate influence on the crime.
