Abstract:

The aim of this study is to obtain the opinions of the teachers of science knowledge about the teaching of the 6th class "Sounds and Features" unit. The participants of the research conducted by the status study from the quality research patterns are composed of 39 science knowledge teachers. The criteria of sample method is used for the determination of the participants. The data of the study was collected through a semi-configured interview form consisting of two sections where personal information was questioned and the interview questions included. The data obtained from the teachers' interviews were allocated by two separate researchers and subjected to content analysis, the main and sub-themes were determined. The proportion of compatibility between coders is estimated at 85.365%. The content analysis resulted in a total of 7 main topics related to the sound subject, including “quality of gains”, “quality of the curriculum”, “thema/country that students experience the most problems”, “methodes/techniques used in the processing of the unit”, “materials used in the processing of the unit”, “events” and “varieties of evaluation used”. In the conversations, the achievements and the subject content were too simplified, the teachers prefer traditional approaches in the teaching process and they had problems with the use of resources effectively, the students were easily understood, but the voice subjects had problems with understanding in almost all, and the teachers had insufficient field and field education knowledge in the voice subjects. As a result of the study, the problems that teachers and students encounter in relation to the voice subject were tried to identify the situation existing by addressing the problems from various points of view and presenting recommendations.
