Abstract:

In poetry, where meaning and expression are a whole, the person to whom the poet entrusts his voice and words is called the speaker. The narrator, who is the poet's equivalent of the narrator in fictional texts based on narration, is the subject of the poem and is a fictional personality. The speaker, which is fictionalized by the poet and can be encountered with a different identity in each poem, affects the meaning, reading tone and form of the poem with the mood it reflects on the reader. The permanence of Orhan Veli's poem, which is the subject of our study, is related to the attitude and position of the speaker in the poem, as well as depending on the meaning feature. The relaxed, sassy, flirtatious, slightly sarcastic and eloquent utterance in the poem, which helps the poet to express the emotion and thought he wants to express more effectively, reinforces the power of the word by creating a subtlety of meaning. In this paper, we will focus on the feature of utterance that keeps Orhan Veli's poems alive, because this feature of utterance, which got rid of the stereotypical expressions, has an important role in making his poems impressive and maintaining their validity today. Some of his poems are related to the expressions that the poet blended with a sympathetic and fine manner in the language of poetry, and which enriches and explains that utterance feature, are Dedikodu, Şoförün Karısı, Tahattur, Altın Dişlim, Şanolu Şiir, Söz and Eski Karım. We will try to obtain clues about his form in this style by examining the voice and the word evoked by Orhan Veli’s distinctive tone in the lines through these examples.
