Abstract How can we read the pure poetry from biopolitics? This essay addresses that question by focusing, in the first place, on the implications of two divisions of the aesthetic morality: that which separates art from life and that which unites them. Starting from there, we will analyze in what way this ideology expelled from the territory of poetry what Agamben calls “zoé”, or simple natural life, undertaking a foundational act of itself through said expulsion. In this itinerary, we will briefly study the constitution of an affirmative biopolitics in César Vallejo, to conclude with the rearticulation of some of these problems in Pere Gimferrer’s poetry.
