One of the most important elements of Turkish-Islamic architecture is the bricks. It is also an important part of the Turkish social life. For this reason, hundreds of fountains were built in Istanbul during the Ottoman State. But the developments that occurred after the collapse of the Ottoman State have also affected the rivers of Istanbul in a negative direction. Over time, most of the rivers of Istanbul have been thrown away, some have been destroyed and some have been destroyed. Immigration and unconscious urbanization have made a huge pressure on the historic textile of Istanbul. There were many efforts to reduce this pressure, but it was not very successful. But the bureaucratic multi-division further accelerates the extinction of historical works. The bricks are the most easily affected structures due to the size of the city's rapid changes. In the framework of these concerns and concerns, this study was conducted in 2017 with the aim of identifying historic rivers in the Historic Semester and providing both support and warning to the relevant institutions on this issue. In the framework of the study, 235 students and all the streets in the Historical Hemisphere have been travelled individually and the fountains identified have been photographed and made a catalogue. The study found 346 sources and most of them were at high risk.

Within the scope of the study, all the streets in the Historic Peninsula were visited one by one with 235 students and the identified fountains were photographed and cataloged. As a result of the study, 346 fountains were identified and most of them were found to be at great risk.
